Jorge Pacheco has been an artist/cartoonist since age 2, but a professional for the past 25 years. Mr.Pacheco has worked on many famous characters, such as Bugs Bunny, Power Puff Girls, Jonny Quest, Space Ghost, Garfield, and has even had his own syndicated comic strip "CEO DAD", as well as illustrated two children's books.
In 2009, Mr. Pacheco has had one of his most diverse and successful years. He is currently working on 2 new children's books, a medical book with two famous characters "Max and Buddy", as well as a wall mural with those very same characters for a children's hospital in Florida. In addition, he is working on a comic book called "Hero Envy" by Glint of Hope Productions, a rebus book, and character designs for an internet interactive website for children. He has had the privilege again to work with his former editor at Harvey Comics, Sid Jacobson, as well as Mr. Jacobson's friend and comic book legend, Ernie Colon, doing coloring work on a couple of dozen pages of their book "Vlad the Empaler" published by Hudson Street Press. Mr. Pacheco continues to work on a number of book, magazine, and website illustrations. Even with his very demanding schedule, Mr. Pacheco has found time again this year to volunteer for various charity organizations, such as the San Diego Blood Bank and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation by doing live caricatures. In addition, he has done live caricatures for several children's birthday parties and holiday parties.
Like many people in this economy, Mr. Pacheco and his family had to go through some very difficult times this year. Mr. Pacheco's wife, Sabine, has had a very difficult time finding work after losing her full-time job as a legal assistant last year, but even through those times, this year has been one of Mr. Pacheco's happiest.
His philosophy: "It's not what you have, but who you have", has proven to be true and valuable. He has a loving, caring wife who he loves very much and a 2-year old son, J.J. who is his heart and soul, and who he loves more than life itself. It has been the greatest experience for Mr. Pacheco to see J.J. grow over the past two years. Not only is he fortunate enough to truly love his work, but he is also able to work from home and be with his child. He has many great old and new friends who have supported him personally and professionally throughout the years and for that, he is very grateful!
